About

The Malmberg Lab

We are a small but dynamic research laboratory in the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Wyoming. Our research interests are centered on naturally occurring diseases of wildlife, especially those at the wildlife-livestock interface. We aim to integrate diagnostic pathology with genomics and other molecular methods to investigate host-pathogen interactions at scales ranging from proteins to populations. Our overarching goal is to initiate and support collaborative research that promotes conservation and guides wildlife management, particularly in Wyoming. Collaborators include the Wildlife Genomics & Disease Ecology Laboratory, Wyoming Game & Fish Department, the Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, and The VandeWoude Laboratory at Colorado State University.
